Bronx, NY rapper/songwriter/producer Al Sharp unveils the final installment to his The Voice of the Unheard music series. Aptly titled The Voice of the Unheard 3: The Final Chapter, the project boasts 16 tracks including skits and an instrumental outro with features from rising emcees.
From the jump, Al Sharp let listeners know what they are into. The “Introduction” featuring Reign Of Terror help set the tone and once the first track hits, listeners are transported into AL Sharp’s world filled with bright lights, dark alleys, street sharks ready to prey on their unsuspecting foes and diligent men trying to make their way out of a seemingly never-ending cycle of voilence, poverty and a game of high stakes. The first track “U Turn” has a dark and omionus backdrop, underpinned with raw lyricism and rhyme schemes that use change of demeanor as the focal point. Lines like “Underpaid turned to hustle/Lead turn into muscle/crown work turn your draft pick/Watch how many say they love you” hit the bullseye and is a quick reminder of Al Sharp’s superb lyricism and pproducing prowess. “Rush” has that mid 2000s NY rap sound with its anthemic feel that showcases Al Sharp’s incisive lyricism and engaging flow. Also on the cut is fellow lyricist, Donyros who gives his 2 cents on the matter at hand. “93 Wu” samples a classic Wu Tang track  and sees both Al Sharp and Crusada trading unfiltered lyricism over the menacing backdrop. “Fingaz Shine” is a brief track that aims to showcase rising rapper Fingaz, who completely bodies the track with his laidback flow and vivid lyricism. Bars like “I’m six-one, 2 thirty I don’t need no muscle/Cause I got gats on the side of me, Rotts on the side of me/Cock back the burner leave the bodies on the side of me/Bullet holes riddle you, lift you out of your physical” serve as a true testament to the rapper’s style and it’s commendable.

The project continues to expand on Al Sharp’s world and the rapper doesn’t stop for gas as he connects with Arowbeegee on “Popovich,” a cut that blends street savvy bars with deep insight and bravado. The beat is punchy and hard-hitting while the rappers put their thoughts on wax with no filter. “Catch a Body” is a cinematic street banger that lives up to its title. Built on the ominous soundscape that fits Al Sharp’s vivid story telling where he takes listeners deep into the dark dwellings of the underground, listeners are in for a gripping ride of their lives. Other notable tracks include the Lyle The Oracle assisted “Knives” where she and Al Sharp weave blades and knives into their lyrical armoury, the scenic “Who u With” with AChugga or the cautionary filled “Shootouts” featuring Moe Grease.  The soulful sample on “Soul Slap” is brilliant and forms the perfect backdrop for Al Sharp’s reflective bars.

Overall, The Voice of the Unheard 3: The Final Chapter evokes and delivers the feeling and spirit of quintessential NY hip-hop we grew up on. No frills, hard-hitting beats underpinned by sharp lyricism and emotionally powerful story telling.
