Long Beach, California duo AJCKS (Acid Jackson) have dropped a new single entitled “Sit Alone.” The duo made up of emcee Illistic and producer Ill2lectual The Sound Cultivator formed in 2009 via Myspace and are still pushing the culture in their own unique way. The track in question “Sit Alone” is a laidback and reflective track made up of a moody and somewhat ethereal soundscape underpinned by bravado and insightful bars.
Speaking on the track the group relayed that “Sit Alone” is “confronting those times when you doubt yourself and you choose to focus on the negative qualities or flaws of who you are.”
Their forthcoming EP Good Grief (which will drop on 7/29 and will be released in digital, vinyl and cassette versions) is their first release in close to a decade. The album will feature collaborations with Blueprint, Illogic and Carnage The Executioner, Illogic also directs the video for the forthcoming single “OBSRVTN.” The duo also revealed that Good Grief will be the first in a series of EPs that will be connected thematically.
