“ALL I NEED” is the latest release from video director A FILM BY SUAVE and UK-born Nigerian rapper/songwriter TiZ EAST , who has been carving his name in the music scene for a while now. The rapper goes back to his roots in Nigeria and recruits rising singer Genie KG, Lagos-based award-winning lyricist Vector and Abuja-based Drill rapper PsychoYP. The track is a drill anthem for the hustlers and go-getters who are ready to go the extra mile to achieve their goals while also paying homage to their roots and culture as they chase and secure the bag. Backed JMClean and Parked Up‘s cinematic and hard-hitting backdrop comprising ominous synths and strings with heavy pulsating drill bass lines, the artists each come through with their unique styles underpinned by their perspective on life. Genie KG sets the tone with his commanding melodic flow and the catchy hook where he effortlessly fuses English, Yoruba and Nigerian broken English. TiZ East follows it with his expressive flow and vivid, detailed rhymes that see him in his element as a British-Nigerian artist who is worth his salt. PsychoYP enters the fray with flair and sprinkles the track with that unique Northern Nigeria swag, and Vector closes it out as an OG with his extensive and layered wordplay.
The visual by A Film By Suave is a blend of performance shots and cut scenes that capture the authenticity of being Nigerian in some sense. Shot in the bubbling city of Lagos state, but instead of the glitz and glamour, they decided to go right into the community where life is rough, tough and authentic.
