Hastings-based singer, songwriter, and musician Sam Wills returns with this brilliant effort titled “Speak.” The track is a blend of contemporary R&B/soul with subtle pop aesthetics, with a unique, unorthodox approach. Bolstered by soft soothing synthesized pads, sparkling keys and a soft drum groove, Wills pours his heart on wax as he reflects on themes like stagnation and the lack of purpose. He rboods on his perceived failures as opposed to his successes, but eventually he realized how fortunate he was through the process of self-healing and self-assessment. The track was produced with London-based guitarist Conor Albert.
The visualizer taps into the concept of loss, depression and soul-searching themes. We see the singer going through the emotions in an exotic setting beset by the glaring sunset.
“Speak” is taken from his forthcoming album.
