Estella Dawn has been on a musical run with a couple of visuals and singles in the past few months, and now she closes out this month with her new single “Reckless.” The breakup anthem is bolstered by a solemn and dark piano arrangement with moody guitar licks and sees her reflecting on the events leading a breakup and the aftermath of it all. Dawn delivers a heartfelt and soul-gripping performance as she runs through the timeline with introspection and acknowledgment. Lines like “I’m sure it’s my fault/Ooo there’s always two sides and I think we’re both wrong/I think we’re both wrong,Yes I abandoned you at your darkest hour/But you drove reckless with me in the front seat of your car And I just, couldn’t look you I the face without feeling betrayed so If you’re scarred by the parting/ I think it’s even babe” give a nuanced take to the situation and shows the power of accountability.
