Moscow-based instrumental outfit The Diasonics, made up of Daniil Lutsenko (electric guitar), Kamil Gazizov (keyboards), Maksim Brusov (bass), Anton Moskvin (drums), and Alexander Shingaling (previously Anton Katyrin) (percussion) return with their new single “Lark.” The trakc’s title is a homage to the railway station close to where The Diasonics’ vocalist Diana Greb lives, plus the lead melody was composed at her home so it was a no brainer when the title was picked. The track is a retro-fitted funk piece that infuses elements of jazz with contemporary pop and showcases a layered arrangement with progressive musicianship from the parties involved. The rich guitar licks are punctuated by sizzling electric riffs, warm keyboards with uplifting chords that are backed by thumping bass-driven grooves and soothing pads. Alongside Diana Greb’s soft haunting vocal is thrown into the mix, adding another dimension to the artistry.
The song is accompanied by an animated visualizer, check it out below.
“Lark” is taken from their new album Ornithology, out on October 3 on LP, CD and digital platforms via Record Kicks.
