DanimaL – “Censorship”.
UK’s underground rapper DanimaL flips the concept of “Censorship” on its head in his new release. In his usual demeanour, he throws caution to the wind and delivers a no-holds-barred, off-the-cuff performance brimming with edgy lyricism and a dash of shock and awe. The visual is quite engaging as well and showcases DanimaL’s rugged persona to the fullest. “Censorship” is lifted from my brand NEW E.P The Confessions of Dr Strange.
Uzler – “Kaleidoscopio”
Spanish rapper Uzler takes us into his world in this heartfelt single “Kaleidoscopio.” Over a warm and soulful backdrop, he talks about the trials and tribulations of life and how resilience brought him further than usual. Lines like “cuantas veces trabaje y no paraba de llover/Cuantas veces no endulce mi vida ni con miel” underpin the gloomy days he has been through. The visual however, has a bright and warm feel that is juxtaposed against Uzler’s solemn lyrics and it works perfectly.
Kvng Grimm – “Grow”
Rising rapper Kvng Grimm delivers the visuals for his song “Grow,” which is the last song from his new project, Til Death. As the title suggests, it dwells on the concept of self-improvment, healing and becoming better for the greater good. The production has a moody and reflective vibe underpinned by heartfelt songwriting. The visual uses various clips of the rapper in performance mode.
JayWood – “SUN BABY”
Canadian singer/songwriter JayWood enters our visual playlist with the official clip of his single “SUN BABY.” The mellow dreamy ballad is centred around the concepts of vulnerability, self-awareness and Astrology sign, especially the Leo and Aquarius sign which are assigned to him at birth. Over lush, solemn piano-laden backdrops, JayWood delivers a heartfelt and emotionally powerful performance, ripe with vivid songwriting. The best part is when the song rises to a crescendo in the middle and brings in heavy rock drums and distorted vocal effects and this is clearly shown i the visual when the clip goes from ethereal, dreamy scenary to a dark moody cinematic set piece. “SUN BABY,” is taken from JayWood’s forthcoming album Leo Negro.
Ayee Bevs – “The Villain”
Ayee Bevs plays the role of “The Villain” in his latest output. The track is centered on integrity and being true to oneself regardless of the situation. Over a summer-tinged backdrop, he delivers a smooth laidback performance that showcases his reflective side. The visual has a grainy, VHS-retro feel to it too and it’s well-crafted.
