Eclectic singer/songwriter Peter Oyadonghan delivers an insightful and thought-provoking track, “Since 1960 (Nigerian Dream),” which looks at the current state of affairs in his country, Nigeria. Over a sullen and moody backdrop brimming with dark textures, punchy drums and sparse atmospheric pads, Oyadonghan shares his thoughts on corruption, lack of direction and the various underhanded practices of the Nigerian government. The title is a reference to the year Nigeria gained independence as a country, and instead of rising to glory, it has become a shadow of its former self.
