Word is Bond – #655 Blown Speaker Edition

Last week’s edition of the show wasn’t very fun to produce. I went to the radio station and something seemed off. I wasn’t sure what it was.

But when I got to the on-air booth, I realized the studio monitors were blown. They sounded terrible. It was hard for me to hear what I was mixing because of the distortion.

I carried on and did a two hour show in the midst of such horrible conditions. But it wasn’t fun. Normally, it sounds great and I get in a zone and just groove. It’s much harder to do that when the sound is actually annoying. It was grating, actually.

On top of all this, my live guest was a no-show. So I had a segment of the show not planned. But I rolled with it.

Listening back to it now, it sounds pretty good. I had a couple listeners let me know when I was live that it was coming through the radio just fine. I’m glad.
