Joya Mooi‘s project Open Hearts  gets a deluxe edition, led by the single “Hush.” The mellow guitar-driven ballad explores themes of self-belief, human resilience and fortitude in the face of fear and tribulations. Joya Mooi’s soft, honeyed vocals run through the warm textures and hushed grooves with a mesmerizing effect and draw listeners into her world. Lines like

Hush, I wont make them forgot me
Wish them all harm in the night
Chains led me think, near to breaking
But every step prepared me for this

Underpin the strength of the human spirit and underscore how life develops our character with every hurdle crossed. The track is inspired by the story of Juliana, a woman who escaped captivity in 17th-century Amsterdam.
