Dennis DEZO Williams has been hitting us with some strong teasers in the past few months via his soundcloud ( @DezoWilliams ) to get us amped for a summer that has arrived.
Two weeks ago he released a dark underground hip-hop remix of Rihanna’s otherwise soft mellow “Diamonds” ( Dezowilliams – Rihannadiamonds ). Part of his “DEZO REMIXES” series.
Now he returns dropping a funky, electronic-driven hip-hop remix of Pop Artist Lana Del Rey’s hit “Summertime Sadness”. This is no ordinary remix. As well as turning the Pop song to a funky groove full of digital funk & soul and gritty syncopated drums, he also brings the vocals of Lana Del Rey along to ride with the music as if she was in the studio cutting the vocals as a rap song. It gets even better. Dezo Williams himself, takes to the mic in a feature rap that proclaims that his dirty sound and approach is in full gear, ready to take over the summer.
