Chicago and Portland connect as their respective delegates The Last Maven and Donte Thomas team up for this brilliant effort titled “Moxie.” Backed by the soulful backdrop provided by The Epiffanies, the duo deliver insight filled bars that talks about the mounting pressures that come with the never ending grind.
Jordz – “Zack & Cody”
Emerging UK rapper Jordz talks about loneliness, battling inner demons in his new release “Zack & Cody.” The trakc ha a bouncy groove with bright guitar licks that form the right backdrop fro Jordz profound look at how lonely life can be even when you have family and friends around.
Tony Newbury – “DOPAMINE (REMIX)” [feat. Xan Louis]
New Jersey artist/producer Tony Newbury connects with WESTSIDE BOOGIE and Xan Louis for “DOPAMINE (REMIX).” The track produced by Kenif Muse has a upbeat groove with atmospheric soundscape underpinned by reflective lyrics from both emcees. The record serves as a bonus track from Tony Newbury’s latest solo album FOREVER GOOD, produced entirely by NJ’s own Kenif Muse.
M Soto – “ME STYLE”.
Brooklyn, NY rapper/producer M Soto returns with new single “ME STYLE” to close out the year. The track is a reflective piece about growth, self-assessment and belief. Over a dance-infused backdrop, the emcee show us the evolution of style and personality.
The New Groovement – “More Than I Should”.
Multi facented, genre bending band The New Groovement deliver a stunning single “More Than I Should” whch caught our ears. The funk/hiphop/jazz infused track is ripe with soothing melodic runs, punchy raps underpinned by an emotionally powerful tale about love, infatuation and self assessment. The New Groovement is a Canada-based 11 man band spearheaded by vocalist Frankie Watson and her partner-in-rhyme Shane Blaq.
JusKolMeAl – “ManKave”
Hard nosed emcee JusKolMeAl pays homage to the foundations of hiphop with his latest release “ManKave”. Built on a moody and omnious soundscape, the Roosevelt-based emcee deliver a tandem of hard-hitting bars with precision and intention.
2wice Great – “Mental Warfare”
Nigerian rapper/songwriter 2wice Great enters our playlist with “Mental Warfare,” an insightful track about mental battles, inner struggles and the pressures of life. Over a solemn backdrop comprising minor keys and dark pads, 2wice Great shares a heartfelt tale that everyone can relate to with bars like “self awareness is a curse if you don’t learn discipline/You can diagnose your demons and still let them walk within”. From self-doubt, depression, never ending cycle of stress and constant inner battles, the track gives listeners a glimmer of hope by reminding them that they are not alone in all of this.

E. Grizzly & Height Keech unite to craft a conceptual album entitled Megalopolis, which is inspired by various cities they love and the characters that clour their lives. The project is heralded by the single “New Year’s Day” which acts as an opening to old and new fans alike. The production is edgy and punchy , while the lyrics are reflective and relatable.
