Overall, a brilliant lyrical effort from two gifted Puerto Rican brothers who are making a name for themselves.

Rising emcee/songwriter B. Cooper pours his heart into his new single “The Waiting,” a soulful piece that talks about life’s journey and the decisions that make or mar one’s destiny. Backed by a guitar-driven mellow backdrop, B.Cooper and Jacque Jordan share their respective thoughts on growth, childhood dreams and the real responsibilities of being a man.

Grizzy Hendrix embodies “50 Cent Energy” in his new single. The track sees Hendrix detailing the dark side of the music industry with an unapologetic energy reminiscent of Curtis “50 cent” Jackson.

Emerging rapper Brandon Kai‘s new single “WHO IS YOU” talks about being intentional with one’s true purpose. Over a boisterous backdrop, the emcee talks about the never-ending obstacles and inner struggles he faced as he finds his path.

 

Jah Gordy – “Right Where You Belong”.

R&B singer/songwriter Jah Gordy lights up the playlist with “Right Where You Belong.” The track is a feel-good modern R&B jam that is punctuated by sublime keys, lush guitar licks with pulsating bass-driven grooves and a soothing melodic performance.

Brooklyn-based emcee Eli Brooklyn connects with ArieS. for this insightful piece entitled “Long Ago.” Bolstered by a rich, soulful backdrop that evokes nostalgia and solemnity, the duo share their experiences as they soul-search through the never-ending labyrinths called life.

 

Vocab Slick – “Get Home”.

Vocab Slick pays homage to the lost ones and the outcast in this new effort titled “Get Home”.  Using his own past struggles as a pivotal role, Vocab Slick tells a story of loss of innocence, failure and the resilience that helped lead to a breakthrough.

“Trill Flow” is the seventh single from UK rapper L2Trilly and it’s a solid lyrical track with vivid storytelling over a cinematic backdorp provided by  Daveyoh.

 

Elexen – “Drunk”

Emerging rapper/songwriter Elexen‘s “Drunk” is a touching track about dysfunctionality in a relationship. Over a warm and soulful backdrop, Elexen reflects on the toxic traits shown by their partner and the numbness that comes with it. The lyrics also dive into seeking normalcy, despite the self-destructive walls that have been built up over time.

 

Acktual Lee – “Rocksteady”.

Acktual Lee’s “Rocksteady” is an ode to the grind and the foundation of the hip-hop culture. The production has the classic 90s feel and sees Acktual Lee delivering off-kilter bars in a stream of consciousness style.

This remix has elements of lofi-soul, modern alternative R&B with hip-hop sensibilities. The vocal runs are hypnotic and blissful, and sublime from start to finish.
