The music video format has been around for decades, through the 90s and 2000s, and it has taken flight from multi-million dollar budget music videos to mid to low-budget videos with exceptional features. In this section, we will not discriminate but highlight some creative visuals that pop up on our radar.

Tiwa Savage x Skepta – “On The Low”.

As Nigerian super star singer Tiwa Savage prepares for her forthcoming highly anticipated new album, This One Is Personal, she delievrs the visuals for the Skepta-assisted “On The Low”. The Rymez produced track is a laidback R&B/afrowave/rap infused piece that showcases Tiwa’s rich melodic tone and swagged out style peppered with Skepta’s commanding raps and together they deliver a tale of love,lust and secrecy. The visual fuses performance shots of both artists and taps into their raw chemistry on scene. Her new album, This One Is Personal’, set for release on August 29th.

 

Thirstin Howl The 3rd – “Our Mama MGV”

Thirstin Howl The 3rd drops  “Our Mama MGV,” a heartfelt tribute to Rebecca Billips (who also appears on the track and in the video) founder of the non-profit organization Power Of Hope NYC. The track explores her histroy in the Marcus Garvey Village of Brownsville, Brooklyn alongside other colourful characters that helped shape Thirstin Howl The 3rd into what he is today.

“Our Mama MGV” appears on Thirstin Howl The 3rd’s newest album The Last Shall Be Thirst, which is out now via streaming platforms.
