Welcome to TWIB’s Weekly Top 10 Videos. This is a segment where we look at some exceptional visuals from various acts around the globe. The music video format has been around for decades, through the 90s and 2000s, and it has taken flight from multi-million dollar budget music videos to mid to low-budget videos with exceptional features. In this section, we will not discriminate but highlight some creative visuals that pop up on our radar.
Again, we promise to bring you the best from high to low budget, to animated to DIY and first and foremost, the most creative visuals we can source.

Benny The Butcher – “East Side Butch” (Freestyle)
Prolific Buffalo representative Benny The Butcher recently put out his new project Summertime Butch 2 and folows it with the Video for “East Side Butch” (Freestyle).” The freestyle is a taste of Benny’s lyrical superiority and showcase of his proficiency in painting vivid street tales with raw emotions and bravado.
Rakim- “Not To Be Defined” featuring Lazarus
The legendary God MC Rakim unveils the visuals for the single “Not To Be Defined” and announces his new project, The Re-Up. The track produced by Dem Jointz has an atmospheric vibe with punchy drums fit for the OG who floats effortlessly over it alongside new comer Lazarus. Together the pair deliever solid performances underpinned with sharp lyricism and comanding flows.
Jordan Andrew – “iKNOW”.
Uprising rapper Jordan Andrew enters this week’s playlist with “iKNOW”. The cloud/emo-rap track is bolstered by plucky syths, heavy bass-driven grooves and moody tetxures while his laidback, somewhat lazy melodic flow takes the cake. The visual is trippy as well and blends performance shots with excessive visual effects and fast cut scenes.
HMZA. – “POP” (feat. T3RU)
HMZA. delivers thie thought-provoking track “POP” featuring T3RU. Backed by a brooding and cinematic backdrop, the emcee bare his thoughts on the situation in Gaza and gives listeers a new perspective on things from the outside looking in. The visual is motif driven and uses dark lighting with engaging set pieces that capture HMZA’s roots.
Tamara Dos Santos – “Faded”.
London-based contemporary R&B singer, songwriter and artist Tamara Dos Santos shares the visuals for her single “Faded”. The modern R&B anthem is an empowering tune that shows the power of self-healing and letting go of the past. Tamara does deliver the goods with a powerful vocal performance ripe with confidence and a bit of cheekiness towards a side note character from her past. The accompanying visual captures the singer having a whale of a good time with her all-female squad as they celebrate liberty from rusty acnchors they have left deep in the sea.
Dax – “Man I Used To Be”
Prolific singer/songwriter Dax continues his musical streak with “Man I Used To Be.” The track is a coutry ballad about growth, flaws and the aftermath of self-assessment and clarity. The visual follows Dax as he confronts his inner demons and his final battle with addiction.
Tim Johnson Jr. – “Just For the Two of Us”
Tim Johnson Jr. recently put out his album, Fly Girl and now returns with the visual for the song “Just For the Two of Us.” The retro-R&B styled production is rich and compliments the singer’s falsetto vocals and soul-stirring melodies. The visual captures him in his element a she hangs out with a group of friends at a party. The visual was shot and directed by Tim’s brother, Israel Johnson.
