“Bombay Moves” is the latest release from Bad Medic Records, a record label run by UK Grime pioneer Nika D who has tapped into his Indian roots in the new compilation project Trading Roots. The single pairs Nika D and Indian rapper Ikka together for a fiery track that blends two cultures seamlessly. Bolstered by pounding UK drill elements with traditional Indian instruments, the track evokes pure originality with modern engaging elements underpinned by distinct flows from both rappers.

The track is accompanied by a scenic, eye-popping video shot in the heart of Mumbai. The clip taps into the rich landscape of the city displaying the grittiness and raw unfiltered energy as it seeps through Nika D and Ikka during their performances.

Nika D aka Nik Nagarkar is the founding member of the world-famous Rap & Bass outfit Virus Syndicate

Nika D on the Trading Roots project:

“After years of travelling to India with my Dad to visit family, I was always trying to find something that I could connect with. Then when my Dad passed away, I felt compelled to seek this out further. Then when I came across GULLY GANG and the Mumbai Hip Hop scene it was the catalyst for me, which then inspired this whole Trading Roots project.
