OG Canadian rapper/songwriter Moka Only continues to raise the ante as he unveils a new track, “Lyrical Heart,” alongside a 5-track EP, Beaming. “Lyrical Heart” does exactly what it sets out to do with its edgy jazz/lofi/experimental sound comprising punchy drums, dusty textures and a classic R&B vocal sample loop. As usual, Moka Only is in his element and flows effortlessly blending inner rhyme schemes with couplets and unprecedented word play together.
The project is heralded by Moka Only’s alter ego Ron Contour, and production collaborator Rad Brown, and the result is a brilliant musical showcase of raw lyricism with off-kilter production.
