Acclaimed Boston artist M-Dot and revered producer Confidence are working on a full-length collaboration, but in the meantime, they share the latest single “Primavera” to keep fans happy. The hard-hitting track produced by Confidence echoes the gritty aesthetics of the 90s with a modern twist. Over the punchy drums and cinematic sample chops, M-Dot steps into the forefront with his expressive and commanding flow and no-holds-barred lyrics and joining him are two NY hip-hop giants, Big Shug from the acclaimed Gangstarr Foundation and Queens general Royal Flush. The result is a brilliant, lyric-dense jam that pays homage to the foundations of true hip-hop.
The title “Primavera,” Italian for “spring,” fittingly represents a fresh season of creativity. The lead single can be found on M-Dot & Confidence’s full-length album Library of Sound, coming later this spring.
