Toronto-raised rapper/songwriter Lex Leosis unveils the new track “theweeds” alongside a 3-part EP series that explores themes of social awkwardness, insecurities, and her character development throughout the years. The track in question, “theweeds,” is a celebration of sorts and sees Leosis leaning into her newfound liberty, playfulness and bravado. Backed by a plucky guitar-driven backdrop that evokes urgency with a touch of summer, Leosis embodies the free-spirit mantle with a devil-may-care attitude. Lines like “My team with the shits/Like fuck a 9 to 5/You could buy a whip, but you still ain’t got drive/Coming in clutch in the bottom of the ninth and the cherry on top/Is that we splitting up the pie” underscore the underlying carpe diem aura with a dash of braggadocio.

Next to follow is the visual trailer for “i’m a little sensitive”

Raised in Toronto’s West End, Lex sharpened her craft in rap battles, cyphers, and online rap communities before traveling across North America to collaborate and perform. Now travelling often to Los Angeles, she continues to expand her artistry alongside a community of forward-thinking peers, pushing her sound and her story to new heights.
