Genre-bending Canadian artist Remi Jean, aka Cityreal, breaks his eight-year hiatus with his new release “Marathons.” The self-produced track fuses DnB grooves, dark pop textures, with hip-hop sampling techniques, and the result is a cinematic piece that explores his life experiences during his break away from music. Over the looming and gloomy backdrop, Cityreal talks about loss, addiction, doubt and the steps he took towards finding himself amidst the white noise. Cityreal has crossed the Ts and dotted the I’s on this one as he pours his all on wax with lines like “And so, I just wanna be happy/I don’t want nothing else/Homie I promise/I just wanna be happy/I don’t want nothing else/Homie I promise.

He is currently working on a self-produced project, Lost in Vancouver album featuring Rich The Kid, TOBi, Jully Black, Saukrates, Kandle and more. The project also has large contributions from addiction specialist and safe injection site founder Dr Gabor Maté and the Vancouver Film Orchestra.
