Toronto-based hip-hop trio known as 6Degrees just released their latest single, “Dystopia.” The track is a blend of insight and social-political issues about the modern-day dystopia we are all forced to live in. Over a playful piano riff, ominous strings and punchy drum grooves, the trio of producer Happysunshinekid, and emcees MC Hash and Jahrovi deliver a masterclass in thoughtful storytelling. Each emcee shares a thought-provoking lecture on the incursion of virtual reality, political proxy wars, and social media distraction that has made it almost impossible to live a life of normalcy.

The overall tone is tongue-in-cheek but filled with true and absurd examples that sound impossible 20 years ago but right now, this is the reality that has reshaped our world.
