The film Backstage is a behind the scenes documentary of the Hard knock life tour which took place in 1999 featuring the likes of Jay-Z, DMX, Method Man and Redman.

So this is a bit of a throwback and I’m sure some if not most of you have seen it before but personally I love this scene. My memories of 11 years ago are pretty vague, but this DMX’s freestyle has been stuck in my head for over a decade and it is his distinctiveness, mannerisms and the ability he has to raise the energy during (00:58) this freestyle that all fascinate me.
