Rome Clientel – Warzone prod. Just Blaze (1997)
A lil throwback for you this morning. This one’s mainly for Just Blaze fans (pictured above), one of his beats from way back when and a far cry from now.

Ok, this is a lil project I’ve been working on the past month or so. It’s a mix of some of my favourite artists and tracks from the past few months and some older, kinda unique, tracks I been listening to for a while. It’s not all stuff that’s been previously featured on Word Is Bond, infact in this compilation there’s an unreleased track and a fresh exclusive. If you like it please don’t hesitate to drop a comment and spread the word! Really pleased with how this turned out so make..
Debut LP from Rochester native Kid Called Quest. Has a fair bit of hype about him which you can see from the features of some big, dope names like Big Shug, Skyzoo and Big Pooh. Am sure we’ll see more of him in the future.

I’ve been following this dude for about a year and a half and I cannot believe I missed out on this when it was first dropped (I was away on holiday at the time and checked back in with him a few hours ago, soon as I got it I was writing this up).
Anyway this dude takes it back to the old school, and I mean, this is proper dope old school style production. Sick loops, boom bap, drum breaks, I mean the dude’s beats have more soul..
That man Vinyl Digger done did it again. Dude makes some of the best mixes I’ve heard and here is his latest; a tribute to Dilla.
Oh by the way, Mr Digger needs a new crossfader, if you like his mixes then it’ll be worth supporting him; check details on how here.

Forgive me for the artwork for the article; there isn’t any other available. But never judge a book by it’s cover and never judge a mix by a pixelated picture because if you do you’d give this a miss. And that’d just be tragic. Dope mix from the crazy Swiss Vinyl Digger who’s a better mixer of records than lemonade is of vodka. An hour long of Nine, Biggie etc for you to enjoy. Move fast and you can download it via Soundcloud.

Ok so firstly two things to demonstrate how much I love this: a) usually I limit myself to one post a day so I don’t burn all the stuff i find b) I really really need to be revising. But this needs to be heard.
Originally broadcast in 2009 on BBC1Extra, this is an hour long mix celebrating hip hop since it’s birth with Sugar Hill Gang. And what a journey it takes you on. It’s nuts, you gotta listen to it from front to back.
