Omas – Taken Over (U.K.)

I love promoting British talent so when Omas came on my radar via London-based label Blunted Astronaut (started by a Pole perhaps but we are a multicultural society) I knew where it was going. ‘Taken Over’ is a hint at what can from from Omas’ 7″ out on Blunted Astronaut later this year and, although there’s no confirmation as to whether this track will necessarily be featuring on it, it is a dope introduction. Sweet horns are juxtaposed with a crazy funky drum break which gets your senses tingling, while the instrumental develops over the 203 seconds from start to..

Premo drops this list annually and, per usual, his census causes quite a ruckus amongst all of us overly-opinionated hip hop heads who have mega respect for Preem’s assessment, but have valid input of our own, too.

DOOM “done” with the USA

I was browsing Potholes In My Blog when I came across an article about DOOM… He’s got upcoming projects with the likes of Masta Ace and Jneiro Jarel and he’s a legend in hip hop. This has not made DOOM’s attempts to re-enter the USA any easier. DOOM was born in the United Kingdom but moved to the United States as a child and never became a citizen. He told U.K. magazine, Q “I’m done with the US”, regarding his fight to try and get back into the USA. This struggle has supposedly been going on since DOOM toured Europe in..

FREENESS: Jonwayne – This Is False

Jonwayne – Lotus Bootleg

Jonwayne – Stacking Corpses

Jonwayne – whatarewegonnacallit (feat. Zeroh)

Drop by Stones Throw’s Jonwayne:

So here is This is False, not so much a pile of songs as it is an executed concept in viewing how our surroundings change our energy and vibrations.  Here, we have two very different ecosystems:  My boy Zeroh’s couch, in which I was using his equipment in his setting, with him in the room at all times, and my bedroom, where I was by myself and using my own equipment in..

ALBUM: Hugh Augustine & Al B Smoov – Word Is Bond LP

Hugh Augustine and Al B Smoov come in with their full length LP ‘Word Is Bond’. Err… no relation. I did get this from our E-Mail vaults though.

Anyway, it’s nice. Al B Smoov lives up to his name with some silky nice production while Hugh Augstine, who we’ve featured a bit before, is on the lyrics.
