Nas Performs Songs From ‘Illmatic’ at Kennedy Center!

Nas (along with a 40+ orchestra & DJ Green Lantern) performed the entire album of ‘Illmatic’, as part of his 20th anniversary release of it at the One Mic Hip-Hop Culture Worldwide festival in Washington, DC. Listening to an orchestra piece together the instrumentation in the way the beats were made is breath-taking; there’s definitely nothing like it.

Check out Nas performing ‘One Love/Represent’ above. Don’t just watch it… just listen. In fact, just listen to the choir.

L’Orange Releases ‘The Orchid Days’ To The Masses!

L’Orange has just released his latest effort The Orchid Days. This album paints dark themes and uses spooky imagery throughout the album, more than enough to get you hooked. Stream and/or purchase the album above.

Jasiri X – Day 2 feat. Carlitta Durand prod. RLGN

Pittsburgh native Jasiri X‘s latest track Day 2 has this uplifting, inspirational vibe to it, teaming up with his usual collaborator RLGN who cooks up something special with vocalist Carlitta Durand (remember her?). Known for his profound, conscious lyrics, Jasiri X follows a path he knows fully well. I remember hearing his music for the first time when he dropped that Trayvon Martin tribute song a while back and has been consistent ever since.

This can’t go wrong man. Hit the play button and get with the program.

It’s been a minute since we’ve heard from Hawdwerk, and it’s great to know that he’s back!
