Just like last year, our good homie, Emmanuel threw up THE BEST J Dilla party in Paris, hosted by "Free Your Funk" & Carhartt. This year they brought Black Milk, Onra and DJ Fab to host the venue, and as always it was a major success.

Major thanks to the good brother Emmanuel for sharing this goodness with us. Wish we where there.

This sounds pretty good, a lil snippet from the latest release by Queen Size Records, a small Polish label but I quite like them. This is part of a 7" series with Polish producer Metro, which has featured prominant names such as Rakaa of Dilated Peoples, MED, Wildflower and Guilty Simpson, so it's worth checking out.

Yesterday afternoon someone responded to my tweet in regards to #DillaDay events in the states. And in my response to the tweet, I decided to go searching for some of these events on my own. During my search I found some tributes that went down last month (trust me, it didnt make any sense to me, either). So when I was searching through facebook, I came upon this (which threw me for a loop; mind-boggled me).

Yes, J Dilla touched the Philippines, y'all. The tribute is happening next week at the M Cafe with DJs Kristian Hernandez, Ms. Badkiss, Heavy Boogie, and Complex... all representing from different parts of the globe. It's dope to know that somewhere outside the US, there's a country that's paying homage to a legend representing us. Two thumbs up.

In Yasiin Bey's next feature film he will play a role previously filled by Samuel L. Jackson who played opposite of Robert de Niro and Pam Greer. If you're not familiar with Quetin Tarantino's Jackie Brown, it's an adaptation of the Elmore Leonard book, Rum Punch. (Elmore Leonard also wrote the book/movie Get Shorty.) Switch takes place 15 years prior to the events of Rum Punch.

 In Switch, Ordell Robbie (Sam Jackson's character) and Louis Gara (De Niro's character) kidnap a real estate developer's wife only to get stiffed on the ransom
