AUDIO: Dela – Translation Lost
Dela - Lucys&LooseLeafs feat. Blu
Hip-Hop's favorite French beatmaker of this generation, Dela, releases his sophomore album Translation Lost today. I know a lot of true hip-hop heads have been waiting on this one, enjoy.
Most of the album was composed in Montreal in 2009 and 2010. The sonics of the album were shaped by the vinyls Dela would come across, constantly visiting record stores throughout the city. Jazz, Funk, Prog, Quebec music being the styles he sampled the most. His love for melodies and beautiful chord changes has remained intact, but an accent is made on the drums, probably the most important instrument in Hip-Hop music.
While Changes Of Atmosphere had guests on every track (Talib Kweli, Les Nubians, Large Professor, Elzhi to name a few), the new album is half instrumental. Reach, a Kansas City based MC who appears on most Dela's projects, opens the record with Go On, an ode to the working class. Californian super MC Blu, who has been a regular guest on Dela's mixtapes & album as well, blesses us with Lucy's&LooseLeafs and WhatUWanna. Sowlie, a young talent from France, lends her wordless vocals to the laidback Chunky Monkeying while Long Island born & raised MC Kemizt, who's currently working on a whole project with Dela, speaks his piece on I Will.

VIDEO/FREENESS: P.So The Earth Tone King – More Jelly (ft. Von Pea & Homeboy Sandman)
About:
"More Jelly is the perfect follow up to the indie rock influenced Jellyfish. Going for more of a "Boom-Bap" feel, P.SO enlisted the production talents of the 2 Hungry Bros., 6th Sense, J57, and even Large Professor. With features from Homeboy Sandman, Fresh Daily, 8thw1, Chris Faust and Senor Kaos, More Jelly, looks like another hit from "the Earth Tone King."
VIDEO: Amiri – Boom Bap

The 1st Single and video for Amiri's debut album "The Recipe". Keep an eye out for our review, coming real soon.
About:
As the lead single to his upcoming solo debut (The Recipe), Amiri drops "Boom Bap" as a digital 12" single on HiPNOTT Records. The Almost Famous producer steps out from behind the boards to refute those who doubted his mic skills and tell us who Amiri is, while mentioning the situation with A Tribe Called Quest and that him and Spectac are still cool... he just had to ride solo on this one.
This digital 12" single includes the album version, radio edit and instrumental of "Boom Bap" as well as a non album B-Side "I Don't".
THE EP CATALOGUE: Dela – Changes of Atmosphere EP
So, for this month's edition of The EP Catalogue, something a bit more current and my absolute favorite beat-maker of the moment. This French producer is known for his high quality, mellow, take you back to '96 beats. Each Dela project is guaranteed a first class lineup, and this is no exception. "Changes of Atmosphere EP", released last year, features no less than 5 mic heavywieghts (J-Live, Elzhi, Blu, Talib Kweli + Large Professor). All tracks were originally featured on Dela's '08 album of the same name. Even 5 instrumentals on the B-side for the beat lovers.

DOWNLOAD: 20 D Energizers (A ~Peacelove Retrospective)
Jeru The Damaja - Cant Stop the Prophet (Pete Rock Remix)
East Flat Bush Project - Tried by 12
Yo world.. First off, a huge thanks to everyone who showed love and downloaded "After Another Winter". It was my first compilation on WIB and the response was amazing, especially considering the mixture of vibes on there. The next one with a similar structure is coming soon, watch out for "Context: Commonplace".
Right, so.. "20 D Energizers" (name inspired by a classic Spike Lee Joint.. check the intro). Basically, this is the perfect old school mix of addictive drum patterns and hypnotic rhyme flows topped off with some of the best sampling work I have heard to this day. Something has been lost in the music over the years and this really brings it home.. Apologies for sound quality, or lack of, all tracks were lifted off vinyl so please adjust your levels accordingly.
Thanks to every artist on here, you made hip-hop for the history books and to Radio Raheem for the inspiration. Hope you all enjoy the ride to regression as much as I have.
