I started Redamancy on Valentine's Day 2011 during a bus ride back to New York from North Hampton, Massachusetts. I plugged my laptop into the power outlet and created the first draft of "B-43", which is now the album closer. A big part of why this project means so much to me is because of the circumstances that led to me creating it and what I learned about myself and others after those circumstances occurred. Although the impetus for this album was a break-up, this is not a break-up album, at least not entirely -- Redamancy explores love and heartbreak from all sides and the effects it has on those that go through it. This is a truly personal body of work and I hope that you enjoy it. - Lyle Horowitz

If you're like me then no rhythms move you like those of the good old boom bap variety. Varsity Squad (Jon Quest & Beedie) have released an album that incorporates the sounds of the past but present it to you in a new school way. I haven't even mentioned the incredible array of producers on this record: Buscrates, Shade Cobain, DJ Vex, Czentist, Git Beats and MassAppeal. This is definitely a head-nodding modern classic and deserves to be listened to.

"Penwork" is one of Canadian MC e.d.g.e.'s trademarks and it seems like he's recruiting for his new firm. In any case, young MC Ackurate, hailing from East Saint Louis, Illinois, seems to have what it takes and showcases his skills on this track that borrows DJ Premier's production on Evidence's excellent track You. Both Ackurate and e.d.g.e. shine here and it is always a pleasure to listen to some talented artists collaborating, especially when one of them is so young but so gifted already. We don't have much more info now, but I sure look forward to listening to more from Ackurate.
