INTERVIEW: Eric Lau — Word Is Bond Exclusive Interview

Eric Lau
After Moka Only and Chief last week, it is now time for London producer Eric Lau to be featured here with a very interesting video interview we recorded at the end of 2011.
First of all, we would like to thank the owner of Guanabana, a wonderful restaurant in Camden, London, for lending his space for the time of the interview and providing such a lovely setting. Not to mention, the food is delicious there! It was also a great pleasure to catch up with Eric and get to meet Simon from Kilawatt, and we are very grateful to both of them for taking some time to chill with us and answer our questions. As the talented producer is about to release The Mission EP in collaboration with Guilty Simpson, there is no better time to get familiar with him and his music. In this interview, he tells us about travelling in Asia and around the world, being a mentor and role model for young people, future projects and more. Without further delay, here is Eric Lau, in his own words...
INTERVIEW: Moka Only & Chief — Word Is Bond Exclusive Interview

Moka Only & Chief
First of all, our sincere apologies to Moka Only, Chief and you for the delay in posting this. It's been a little while, but I can assure you the wait was worth it, as this interview is a gem!
We told you about Moka Only and Chief's show at East Village in London for Doctor's Order previously with our review and we posted some great pictures courtesy of Ruben Cruz of Kraken photography, but it is now time to present our exclusive interview with the duo, recorded a few hours before the show, where they tell us about London, Crickets and more.
Big shout out to Spin Doctor for providing a place for us to conduct the interview and of course to Moka Only and Chief, who took some time to chill with us and answer our questions despite jet lag and tiredness. It was much appreciated and we had a great time with them before and during the show. Now, without further delay, let me share with you a very fun and informative interview with two very talented and down-to-earth artists.
FOOD 4 THOUGHT: Why Sopa And Pipa must be stopped.
Welcome to the internet 2012. In the late 70's when hip-hop burst on the scene as a counter cultural movement. Big business moved quickly to buy home grown talent. So much so that the lyrics quickly began to reflect a corporate lifestyle. Some of the biggest names in the game began to sound more and more like they represented the values of a corrupt regime. Suddenly it was no longer about “The Message” but “Big Pimpin' spending G's”. Hip hop had lost itself. What had represented street life now came to represent corporate America.

IDLE WARSHIP: Res + Talib Kweli
In the City Of Angels, no matter what day of the week it is.. if you're a fan of any particular artist, chances are you'll be coming out to see them. In this case, this past Wednesday night was no different, as the Key Club became a fully packed house, waiting for Idle Warship artists Talib Kweli & Res (w/their band) to come out and jam for their fans. You can even see the anticipation on the audience's faces that once they got started, it was definitely going to be a good night, brought to you by Move Forward Music & Fusicology.

EVENT REVIEW: Phonte & 9th Wonder at the Key Club (Los Angeles)…
Brotherhood: The perfect word to describe something more than just a friendship between these two men.
In a world where we've seen friendships end faster than video game losses, the beginning of last year was the start of a new beginning with these two brethren mending their friendship after four years of issues that they respectfully chose not to speak about publicly which was ignited by the release of 'Star'. And since then, they've maintained it like they're supposed to.. and to witness this live and direct makes me wonder why (after so many years) cant any of our favorite groups, people, etc. do the same?
INTERVIEW: Notes to Self – Word is Bond Exclusive

Notes to Self is a group I've been following for a few years now. Since the release of their 'Warning Shots EP' back in '09 I have been a massive fan. Hailing from my home city, these Toronto boys have been able to create a pretty big name for themselves which is a massive feat for a group with only one full length album under their belt. Their style is unique but also reminiscent of old school rap groups and their clever, thought provoking lyricism combined with solid production has really set them apart from other hip-hop groups. With the upcoming release of their second full length release entitled ' Used to be Dark ,' I thought I would get to know Notes a little better and shot them a few questions. For all the Word is Bond readers, this is Notes to Self....
INTERVIEW: Sinitus Tempo — Word Is Bond Exclusive Interview

Sinitus Tempo
Sinitus Tempo is a young and very talented producer we told you about several times already and he is also one of the most productive and hard-working artists I know. Over the past months, he has released countless EPs, two albums and several collaborations, including his latest endeavour with Australian singer and instrumentalist Kitty Wong, with whom he formed the group OneofUs and released Disengage. Inspired by Japanese culture and the late Nujabes, he creates beautifully soothing and dreamy music that is a delight for the ears.
After becoming familiar with his musical universe, I thought it would be a good idea to get to know Sinitus Tempo a little better and therefore decided to ask him a few questions. He was kind enough to reply very promptly and it is now a great pleasure for me to share those answers with you. Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to Sinitus Tempo...
