Be warned that this is some mushy rap but each song bangs. I especially like the closing song by Common, "The Light." I think that is quite possibly the best hip-hop love song of all time. Of course, we had to start out with one of the very first romantic rap songs, "I Need Love" by LL Cool J.

On my travels around the net I returned to the royayersproject.com and was happily greeted by this gem. For those of you who don't know since the beginning of the year the project has called on producers/ musicians to submit beats made using the music of Roy Ayers. The response was massive and global. Since April they have been showcasing a single producer every Monday. This compilation represents some of the best examples the project has heard. There will be more to come I'm sure. FREENESS: Yel-owe Records – Weekday Workout EP (Japan)
Something special from our homies at Yel-owe Records, a bunch of beats by Japanese-based artists all sampling the same Jacky Giordano record which is also the first track on the tape for continuity. This project was originally released in April Japan-side, but given the demand, has kindly been made available to the masses for FREE download.
Almost all of these artists also appeared on the label's We Got It compilation released in Febuary (which is no longer free, but still very much worth the $5).

Just found this Illness, on WIB's inbox, just finished listening to the whole album and it's honestly one of the best mixes I've ever heard, and there's another 4 tracks just like the one above on DJ Inform's Bandcamp...loads of care and love when in to this, and it ain't hard to tell....highly recommended.
The Fair Use project makes liberal use of over 150 different records to create a mix that must be heard to be understood. In words, DJ Inform took original records that have been sampled before for classic hip hop songs, reworked the samples with other samples from other classics, mixed in some classic drum breaks, scratched a lot, added some accapellas, and in general just sort of smashed everything together. All original records used, no b.s. mp3's or anything...buy it if you want. DJ Inform would appreciate your support.
