Here's a lyrical gem from late 2010, that went completely under the radar. Sa-Roc a Washington DC femcee, that is right up there with the most talented underground femcees....Tiye Phoenix, Boog Brown and Jean Grey. Had a listen to the album today, thanks to Chase March. And became an immediate fan.
Sa-roc hails from the southeastern area of Washington DC, a city that’s a mashup of poverty stricken hoods, a strongradical movement, and a fierce loyalty to cultural preservation.
From subject matter ranging from melanin to pyramids, Saroc spits metaphysical ideas over melodic hip hop beats, seeking to fuse knowledge of self with great music.

We mentioned this album last year, but was just listening to it again, and I believe it deserves it's own post, as it seems that it did not get attention needed.....11 tracks and it's a "Name You Price" album, you could get it free or you could support the artists and help them, keeping on making this great music.

A collection of songs (and the instrumentals) recorded and released before Substantial & Marcus D became Bop Alloy. Although, most of you Bop Alloy die-hard fans probably have these songs, you certainly didn't have all of the instrumentals until now. Enjoy.

Really good music by Izaiah and Atman Amor(Abacus and Lord Cromwell) aka The Brothers Amor. the group hails originaly from Los Olivos California, where they began collaborating in the late 90's.
"An amuse-bouche [amyzbuʃ] is a single, bite-sized hors d’œuvre.[1] Amuse-bouche are different from appetizers in that they are not ordered from a menu by patrons, but, when served, are done so according to the chef's selection alone. These, often accompanied by a complementing wine, are served as an excitement of taste buds both to prepare the guest for the meal and to offer a glimpse into the chef's approach to cooking."

The wonder of networking...was talking with the homie Barclay on facebook the other day, and he recommended this album by New Zealand act "Kolab", told me it was The Bomb! I had a good listen and must admit, Kolab is an act that we all should keep an eye on, and Phat as hell!!...Buy the album and support that good music ya'll.
Kolab are a hip-hop group hailing from Auckland, New Zealand. Their sound could best be described as liquid Hip-Hop; A conscious jazz inspired sound, with a twist of funk.

This is going to sound a bit left field at first, but pay attention to the instrumental vibe. "A Memoria" is track number one on the excellent self titled album by "Orelha Negra".
We crownd orelha negra as our Best International act, and once again they deliver in spades with this lyrical version of "A Memoria" featuring Orlando Santos. Beautiful visuals of Lisbon (Portugal) provided by Nebula studios
