REVIEW: IV The Polymath

.:ALBUM REVIEW: IV The Polymath - New Vs. Old

In the past few years, instrumental hip-hop albums have started to garner widespread attention. Previously, MCs used to seek out beat tapes to practice their rhymes or find producers for their albums. Nowadays, producers can release entire projects that don’t sound out of place without a rapper spitting over the tracks. This tradition of showcasing beats without rappers started back in the mid 90s with the help of artists such as DJ Shadow and his album “Endtroducing.” The latest release to come across my desk in this genre is IV the Polymath’s “New Vs Old.”

Very dope track/video by Mazzi & Sneakas..."Most Heated"...a curious fact about this duo below:

"What separates this duo from every other group, is the fact that on one microphone stands a Jewish Israeli (Sneakas) , and on the other a Muslim Persian (Mazzi). ." Mazzi and Sneakas' music proves not only that non-violent expression between Jews and Muslims can be a reality, but that hip hop can be one step towards the creation of an understanding between these two groups- an understanding that is infinitely overdue."
