Celebrating ten years of Rock The Bells‘ history is definitely not easy, as we’ve seen Guerilla Union going against the odds with trying to bring the holograms to life for the fans of Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Eazy-E. You guys remember when the idea of bringing ODB back there was some initial backlash from his widow, who’s the owner of his estate. Thanks to the powers that be, fans in Southern California were the first ever to witness these two legends come to life, through Wu-Tang Clan & Bone Thugs-N-Harmony — who were ALSO celebrating their anniversary releases of their debut albums.

The weather in San Bernadino wasn’t that bad as it was predicted. Although it was dry and mildly humid, that didn’t stop thousands of fans from entering the San Manuel Amphitheater gates early in the afternoon! Fans came out with one agenda in mind, and that is to watch their favorite rapper blow the roof off the stage(s). In addition to seeing that happen, those who bought their VIP passes got to see the bonus cypher that was happening on the side of the RTB stage.

One of the unique features of this year’s lineup to see was Jhene Aiko. Although she came on late, the fans were patiently waiting. During in between sets of her songs she reminisces about being in the crowd just a year ago as a fan. “I remember last year sitting in the crowd among you guys watching the artists perform, and now to see that I’m here performing for all of you is just a dream come true,” Jhene says.

Besides all the other acts that performed, there was quite a few highlights that went down: We got to witness J. Cole perform Let Nas Down which was one of the biggest songs as of late, dedicating it to the Queens emcee. Each member of Black Hippy came out and perform a few songs each, with Ab-Soul bringing Danny Brown to the stage to collaborate on a couple of songs, and Kendrick Lamar — who just finished his #GKMC tour with his crew and is now about to embark on another one with Kanye West for the Yeezus Tour. Not too long ago, Kendrick took on the whole world with his one verse and told them to fall back. Kendrick’s electric performance had everyone screaming Compton! If you guys were there, there was a huge group of people from Compton that came out in support of Kendrick such as B.G. Knocc Out and the whole crew!

Later in the evening on both days, fans watched as both Eazy-E and ODB was resurrected back to life to perform! As NWA’s DJ Yella brought in Eazy-E during Real Muthaphuckin’ G’s to perform Straight Outta Compton, Boyz-N-The-Hood, and For The Love Of Money, the Clan brought out ODB to perform Shame On A N***a and Shimmy Shimmy Ya. Everyone walked away in awe of what they saw in front of them, making sure that besides the performances — the hologram showcase the highlight of their night.

Check out some of the pictures from the night! Thank you Guerilla Union for TEN YEARS!
