Blitz The Ambassador just provided that Friday pick up musique (pardon my Francais) in the form of this engaging smokey track ‘Bisa’. What even makes this track epic (for me anyway) is the inclusion of two other african musical dignitaries in the form of Nneka and TY. With each guest presenting a whole new perspective. Some references might fly over your head if you are far removed from African political history but the majority is presented on a general level for easy listening.

Bisa is far from ‘let’s splash lyrics over a beat’ type song but its calculated, well crafted and executed, a perfect blend of futuristic-soul, hip-hop and afro-beat elements( to a lesser degree) with a message to boot. These three need to record an EP as soon as possible.

For the last leak off Blitz the Ambassador’s Warm Up EP (Available Aug 27th), the Ghanaian lyricist teams up with fellow African heavyweights Nneka and Ty for a track called “Bisa”. Produced by beatsmith Tismé, the word ‘Bisa’ means ‘Ask’ in the Ghanaian language “Twi” and explores widespread inequalities from an African perspective.
