So, today marks the release of The Clean Hand, the latest drop from LA MC Blu in collaboration with the legendary Pete Rock. ‘Her favourite colour’ hooks up with the OG on the EP’s title track for a special two-sided release on white vinyl (how clean can you get) via Word Is Bond partners Redefinition Records, and if you flip the 12″ over you’ll find ‘Lemonade’, a real contrast in dynamic from Beat Make Jake. Neither of the tracks are brand new (with ‘The Clean Hand’ being about since end of 2011, and ‘Lemonade’ coming out last year) but as a cohesive release with a fresh physical manifestation and the old school track/acapella/instrumental triptych, it’s worth checking out. Probably more for those vinyl heads than anything else.
