Welcome to The Word Is Bond Rap Radio Hour, your weekly source for great hip-hop music and talk.

Today, we have a special show for you. I got to sit down with Frankie Payne for an exclusive interview. It was an honour and a privilege for a number of different reasons.

Number one, I’ve been following his rap career now since 1994. He was in a group back then called Graphidi Logik and they opened up for my all-time favourite group Run-DMC. It was a great concert and they played a bonafied Canadian hip-hop anthem, “Can I Get a Yo!”

Number two, Frankie Payne is currently in the super-group Freedom Writers with some of the best talent Canada has to offer. The collective consists of Frankie Payne, Tona, Adam Bomb, Theo3, Mathematik, and Progress and they have been dropping quality projects for years and years now.

Number three, Frankie Payne has been making quite the name for himself as a solo artist with strong songwriting and an incredible stage presence.

I caught up with him just before he took to the stage at The Cookout. It was a great hip-hop festival thrown by In Tha Kut Radio and Trilateral Entertainment. I will have a few more interviews in the coming months that I completed that day so make sure you keep it locked to The Word is Bond Rap Radio Hour!
