If you haven’t heard about SAE Institute (School of Audio Engineering), it’s an awesome school that gives you a crash course in many places in terms of entertainment, such as Audio, Digital Journalism, Web (Social Media/Marketing), Film, Games, and tons more. They’ve been around since 1976 (talk about O.G. status)! They even provide classes online, and short-term classes as well. From my personal observation at the school in Los Angeles, the school provides a lot for those who are aspiring to become something in the entertainment field, which includes reports from former students who have went on to work with big named-folks in the industry!  This institute has schools all over the world- from United States to Europe, to some parts of Asia, and extending out to Australia!

Now, iStandard has been around since 2005, bridging the gap between the up-and-coming producers and the music industry, through various events like their Producers Showcase (which gained the attention of the industry’s elite) taking place across the country!

So what’s the point of the long, extended intro? Well, these two entities have joined forces to bring you a three-city convention, called Beat Camp – presented by Native Instruments & powered by XXL & Monster Energy. Beat Camp is a weekend containing classroom discussions on producer branding, management, A&R meeting simulations, networking & relationships, songwriter & producer synergy, sampling, live mixing sessions, and more, and are taught by producers/engineers with major credits and music business professionals. Throughout the weekend representatives from various technology brands will be on hand showing their latest gear, as well as a Monster Energy lounge in which attendees can power up in between sessions. Nighttime activities include the iStandard Producer Showcase, Celebrity Beat Cyphers, Impromptu Beat Battles, & more. Previous Beat Camp instructors have included the likes of J.U.S.T.I.C.E League, Symbolyc One aka S1, Statik Selektah, Scram Jones, !llmind, Buckwild and many more.
