We’ve seen some pretty unconventional collaborations recently in the world of hip hop, most notably the The Black Keys & RZA recent release. However, some far out collaborations don’t always get the approval of major record labels. Elvis Costello and The Roots went against the grain and behind their labels backs to start recording music together.

The Grammy winning artists began recording Wise Up Ghost, the album which they plan to drop September 17th. Production has been in the works for the past two years, but they kept a good secret. It
