Joseph Jacobs is a musician/hiphop producer out of Buffalo,NY. The name doesn’t ring a bell and this is his second release and I must add a solid one for that matter. The ability to compose spaced out piano pieces over pounding drums gives this project a somewhat new vibe. The beats don’t sound repetitive but there is an underlining theme that string the tracks all together. I particularly like the way he kicked it off with the uber bright sounding ‘Hello & Welcome’ which leads into the sombre/mellow smooth flowing title track. I must reiterate his piano pieces are impeccable as he doesn’t overdo it, just a little here and there. He definitely has some Nujabes/Dilla/Preem thing going on here, pounding boom bap drums, jazzy piano riffs and atmospheric soundscapes, you name it. Joseph even took to the mic on one track ‘View’, singing and rapping in a somewhat laid back lackadaisical manner- hey at least that was what I felt.

Lastly, I do recommend this for everyone, besides the cohesiveness, the musicality definitely takes the cake on this project(an element I think is lacking nowadays).
