Fashawn released today, the HIGHLY antecipated “Ode To Illmatic”, where he covers “Illmatic” from top to bottom.
Just had a quick listen, and as expected, this man is a BEAST as a lyricist, probably one of the best I’ve heard over the last 10 years or so.
It’s hard to spit over “Illmatic” without messing it up, and fashawn achieves that, which is a feat in itself.
I’ve been really excited about Fashawn since he blew up last year, and this just fuels that fire….to me Fashawn and Blu, represent all that is good, about the underground scene nowadays, and why is so worth spreading the word about this new wave of talented artists.
Can’t wait for his next album.
