WIB Podcast 41 – Top 12 Albums of 2012 by Word Is Bond on Mixcloud

Today we are counting down the Top 12 Albums of 2012 as decided by me.

I know that every time a list is put together such as this one, there will be some people who won’t agree with it. “Why did you include such and such?” and “Why didn’t you put this on it?” are just a few of the questions that will be asked.

Of course, this list isn’t definitive since we have quite a few on staff here. We put our heads together to come up with the Top 10 albums of the Year and you can go back and read that now. There are some great albums on that list that didn’t make it in my Top 12 of 2012 countdown.

I like when people put out these year-end lists. I read a lot of them and quite often discover music I might not have otherwise. It prevents me from sleeping on some classic material. I’m hoping today’s program, at the very least, will expose you to some new music, and hopefully you’ll be nodding your head and agreeing with me in this Top 12 list.

Either way, if you like what you are hearing today. Go out and support these artists. Buy their albums, go to their shows, and buy some merch at their shows. That is how these artists make it.  It;s important to support good music and the artists you truly admire.

That being said, let’s look at the Top 12 albums of 2012.

12. Dominique LaRun & DWill – Diem
11. Arrested Development – Standing at the Crossroads
10. Murs and 9th Wonder – The Final Adventure
9. Gabriel Teodros – Colored People’s Time Machine
8. Apollo Brown & O.C. – Trophies
7. Kool Krys – Listen to Your Art
6. Saigon – The Greatest Story Never Told Chapter 2: Bread and Circuses
5. Journalist 103 – Reporting Live
4. The Book Thieves – In Spite of Everything
3. Symmatree - The Balancing Act
2. Brother Ali – Mourning in America and Dreaming in Color
1. Ngajuana – Section One
