Over recent weeks an MC using the pseudonym Captain Murphy has captured the attention of a lot of underground fans. With his pitch-of-voice altered beyond recognition his identity was much discussed; was it Flying Lotus, Tyler the Creator, Zeroh, Earl Sweatshirt, even all of the above? Well, as I said a couple of weeks ago, it is indeed FlyLo, who revealed Captain Murphy’s identity at a show at Low End Theory last night. So not only is he content with being one of the most groundbreaking producers in the game, dude’s gotta go and throw down some dope rhymes too. Man. He also released Duality (and the instrumentals) for download, so go and check it.
By the way, the obvious giveaway I mentioned? Flying Lotus used the Captain Murphy laugh in his ‘Black First Mix’. LRCN a.k.a. If Sherlock Did Hip-Hop
