I’ve been listening to “Open House” by “The Residents” for a few weeks now, and I can say with confidence, that so far,…this is THE best stuff I’ve heard this year…and couldn’t recommend it enough
The Residents are formed by Muneshine hailing from Toronto Canada & Saint representing Long Island, New York…
“Open House” was originally released in late 2009, it’s been a Japanese exclusive for the past few months and after much acclaim & good reviews it’s now available worldwide, and what’s best “The Residents” decided to give the album away FOR FREE.
There was a lot of hype about this album. Mainly because these 2 super producers/Mc’s are well known for producing dope work on the regular… they have worked with the likes of….Pete Rock, DJ Spinna, Sean Price, J-Live,Wordsworth, Grap Luva & Nature to name a few.
“Open House” was mostly produced by The Residents (Muneshine & Saint). There is a few other producers like the legendary turntable master Rob Swift of the X-Ecutioners.
The album features Cadence (Raw Produce), Ohmega Watts, Understanding, Shad K amongst others.
This is a MUST listen if you enjoy that good Boom Bap hiphop. “Open House” is album with amazing production values…and personally, I can’t wait for the next Residents Album.
