Duo MC’s KON Sci and Tronic exchange bars over jazzy musical backdrops courtesy of producers such as iLLmind, J. Rawls, Oddisee, Dunc and their in-house musicians-Jamoculus and KON Sci. This is their second LP from the North Carolina-formed group, following their official début; ‘Transitions’. Guests on the project include John Robisnso, Seez Mics, Kev Brown and rCyn, while guest DJs are DJ Noumenon, Rob Swift, DJ Excess, J Smoke, DJ Spictakular and John Beez.

Minds One
From the name of the group, songs like ‘Earth Sciences’, ‘State Of Mind’, ‘Physical Form’ and album title (Self Reliance), the groups ethos and ideologies are on positive mental attitudes, dealing with topics and issues such as intellect, the mind and positivity; with such lyrics throughout, the music provided is unquestionably progressive for MindsOne’s lyrics, with that old school flavour with ‘boom-bap’ sounds.
Listening through ‘Self Reliance’ it is safe to say North Carolina has a new saviour left by Little Brother; they are the heirs apparent to the alternative, ‘underground’ rap scenes throne. A lot of fans of hip-hop have been quick to say it is dead, but these so called ‘fans’ are just lazy and don’t know where to look; artists like MindsOne show it is alive and well.
