We continue our celebration of International Women’s Day with a special edition of Know Your History!

In this episode of the show, we look at the very first year rap music was recorded.

There were a lot of female voices in Women in Hip-Hop Year One (1979). I wish we could still say that about the current culture of hip-hop. I’m not sure why we can’t. Hip-hop was inclusive at the very start and it wasn’t strange to see female artists doing their thing. We explore all those voices in this edition of Word is Bond Rap Radio!

Press play and enjoy!

Part 1

Xanadu and Sweet Lady – Rocker’s Choice
