Taking place at Red Bull Studios New York during the Academy Festival, Joe Mansfield (author & collector) is collaborating with Red Bull Music Academy to bring you this special exhibition that’s taking place now until the end of this month. The Beat:Repeat NYC documentary will be accompanying this exhibit which is also showcasing over 100+ vintage drum machines that have been influencing music over the past sixty years.

Since its introduction in 1959, musicians have used drum machines for much more than a steady beat. What began as a simple solution became a doorway to creativity. Explore the foundation of classic tracks like Suicide screaming over a cheap Seeburg to Arthur Baker setting an 808 running beneath Afrika Bambaataa.

The exhibition is open on Wednesdays-Sundays from noon-7pm in Manhattan. In the meantime, check out the trailer.
